Tom began racing on the Trexlertown Velodrome over 40 years ago. About that time he also began building track bikes for national team members. Since then his reputation for being able to finely tune each track frame he builds for each individual track rider's needs has become legendary.

In only a few short years from 1978 To 1981, Spectrums were ridden to over 35 national championships, two Professional World Championships and a World Tandem Championship Silver medal. Since then, Tom has lost track of all the National and World Championships their frames have won. The list continues to grow each year, and for good reason; we build the best track frames available and track riders know it. Put simply, A Spectrum Custom Track frame offers the highest performance in the world. The Spectrum racing credentials are no fluke. Spectrum Cycles uses their own custom drawn chain stays for incredible stiffness and light weight no other frame can match. All the experience gleaned from our world-class racers goes into each new frame. This frame builder actually races on the track. Mechanical efficiency, power transmission and precise handling are critical features in any frame. However, designing and building a track frame with each of these characteristics is a very complex endeavor. The strengths and weaknesses of the rider, their intended events, the designs of the tracks they will ride on, their experience level, are all critical considerations for the design of their new frame.
