Step 1
The construction of your
Custom Spectrum bicycle begins with something unexpected
an
Interview. Guided by questions about ride style, previous
bicycles owned, how you feel on your bicycle, etc. you tell
Tom exactly what he needs to know. This process usually
takes a bit over an hour.
Step 2
Following the interview
Tom conducts an exhaustive fit-session on your current bicycle.
Precise measurements are taken and suggestions made by Tom.
Step 3
Next, you and Tom discuss
some Spectrum frame options based on the information gleaned
from the interview and the fit session. Frame materials
are chosen and the design work begins.
Step 4
Tom will designs a frame
in your chosen material to meet your specific needs. Geometry
is tuned; tube lengths, and diameters are finalized. Finish
options are also discussed.
Step 5
Upon your approval construction
begins. Tom and Jeff create steel frames on site while titanium
frame specifications are sent to Merlin Metal Works for
initial construction.
Step 6
Once the frames are built
a rigorous inspection takes place. The final framesets are
then ready for totally custom finishing.
Step 7
Tom hand-finishes each
and every frame according to your imagination
you dream
it and Tom will paint it.
Step 8
If you ordered a complete
bicycle, it is carefully built up with components chosen
by you. We take a photo of it for our scrapbook; pack it
up and ship it to you. We then start on the next Spectrum
frame.
Step 9
You receive your
new Custom bicycle and smile like a giddy child, a giddiness
that returns each time you ride it.
